AI policy
At APPRAISE, we are committed to maintaining the highest levels of quality, integrity, and professional responsibility in all AI-related activities.
This policy outlines the principles that guide the responsible development, deployment, and use of AI technologies within APPRAISE's managed financial reporting service.
Policy principles:
Quality and accountability
Human judgement and oversight are fundamental to the quality of the services we provide. As such, all AI-enabled work outputs are subject to human scrutiny, and final accountability for deliverables rests with human professionals, not AI systems.
Ethics
AI is used consistently with APPRAISE's professional responsibilities and with KSIB's obligations as a CAANZ practice entity.
All AI applications comply with applicable laws, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
Bias, fairness, and transparency
We disclose to clients when AI tools are used to inform the preparation or review of the services provided.
Data and accounting inputs fed into AI systems are verified for accuracy and completeness before use.
AI outputs are reviewed for errors, omissions, and unintended distortions before incorporation into any client deliverable.
We do not represent AI-generated drafts or analysis as having been independently prepared by a human professional unless that review has occurred.
Safety and security
The security of client financial data processed through APPRAISE's AI-enabled platform is paramount.
Client data is handled in accordance with APPRAISE's data security policy and applicable privacy legislation.
AI systems are subject to access controls consistent with the sensitivity of financial reporting information.
Platform logic errors and AI output accuracy risks are identified, monitored, and mitigated through APPRAISE's quality management system.
Governance and compliance
APPRAISE reviews this policy annually, at a minimum, to ensure it remains current with technological developments, regulatory changes, and professional standards.
The Quality Lead holds responsibility for oversight of AI use within APPRAISE engagements and for compliance with this policy.
Concerns about AI use on any engagement may be raised with the Quality Lead or, where appropriate, with the KSIB Chief Executive Officer as the ultimate responsibility holder under APPRAISE's quality management system.
AI practices are reviewed as part of APPRAISE's ongoing engagement monitoring and quality assurance processes.
